Yep, I agree with the law  because I believe George Washington really would have felt that way about military medals and their prestige. The military historian quoted at the end is spot-on in his assessment.

I'd suppose claiming something in a bar to get laid is one thing. But as soon as the girl says yes thinking you're a war hero, it's fraud. Both of the guys mentioned in the article commited fraudulent acts by claiming medals they did not earn. What's the point of lying about it in the first place unless it is to gain some sort of advantage one doesn't deserve?
