A few months ago I heard Steve speaking about a different way to look at the ten commandments.  I was wondering if any one could tell me where I can find it.

Welcome to the forums.
I'll look around and see if I can find it.

Tuesday, September 8, 2009: The Ten Stupid Things Christians Do To Mess Up Their Lives
"Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. That's crazy...crazy like a fox."

Is this it?

you know what sounds even crazier?
instead of telling God to change the way the person treats you, is asking God, "What is there in me that needs changing? Bring to surface what you would have me to see about myself"

I have heard it said that G-D never takes you out of problems... He takes you through them, including enemies... He kind of sounds like a bulldozer... lol

The christian is the person who defines what is the standard in any society. I do not think that a standard of conduct is simply described by how much experience there is in a way of an occupation... a way of a relationship... a way of philosophy ... but the christian understands reality in the most logical ideas because he understands that life is two dimensional and not one. If the ultimate world view represents the highest communication of all that is needed to understand the nature of every thing that exist so that a person is caused to understand things as they really are then the obligation is one of dependence on God.
This is why two dimensional reality is opposed in its most fundamental application. I mean the standard of conduct as being the way of a mans high position in society has its fundamental roots in mans ability to acquire respect and power in how he views himself in his achievements. Its a fundamental misunderstanding of how he has acquired his position of power. We are talking about an intense struggle about what is reality.
This is where we have such a difficult time of dealing with people in this world. Because the christian actually views reality with a totally different understanding. The motif of two dimensional reality is buttressed in a simple focus highlighted by intense desires to infect his environment with a super naturalistic communication. I think we are dealing with the idea that there is going to be a clash of wills as if there were two vehicles heading rite at each other colliding. This represents the supernatural world view opposing the secularist world view.
This is not an easy struggle to find some kind of common ground. I do not think they can co exist. I mean if we are to resist the devil.. what is the promise? That he will flee from us not the other way around! Far too often i think we mistake compromise for love.

Even if you have an unequally yoked marriage ... this is going to be a core distress no matter how you cut it... this is why Christ says that He comes to turn the family against itself. Your enemies will be those of your own house hold. And in a sense we are dealing with the most fundamental reality of living in this world. We must define the quality of our experience as to how we grieve in lite of how close to our private lives we must deal with this issue!! We are required as being free in Christ to confront this as being a prison in itself. I mean there are people who oppose us of whom we can get away from in the private and quite rest in our own homes but when we have unrest in our homes this is a most grievous situation. I would even say that reality of who we are never really exist in the public arena. We are who we are on the inside .. that is the source of the quality of our supernatural experience. We must deal with these enemies that are not easily overcome!!

I believe it's sufficient enough to let Him know what's happening and surrender it to Him. Only He knows how to fix it and if there's something He wants you to do or say, He'll make it clear to you.

Remember, in the end, it's not your job to avenge but God's justice. I guess, sit back, and enjoy the ride.

I think when the ulterior motive is set asisde in attempts
to "mess with one's mind" and the heart is genuine in
extending love, just because, it has a glowing effect
on both the one who extends.. and the receiver.

God Loves because God IS Love, for no other reason.

when forgiveness is a part of your life like shaving--or coffee--pepsi-or coke
a cold beer or abstaining---forgiving your enemies- is as ez as forgiving a family member-----now if we are talking of a major offence--
I hope we been hanging with the Rock--Not the football player//wrestler''

I have lots of reasons to hate---I gave them an outlet---I said rage-----In 3 days they were replaced with and in line
with my Spirit-With the Word

Now Enemy is a semantic---Is the an Ex Friend--Live a style Of Love Thankfulness-Forgiveness-Powerful But Gentle-Wise but not arrogant--Be a friend that yo would want as a friend--You'll find a big difference

I wonder sometimes if it's not me trying to get the flesh to be humbled...I mean it's beyond repair..but the spirit entices me to submit to certain aspects of the fruit of it's own spirit..hence picking up the cross and following me sort of thing

too many times I think leadership and teaching has lead folks to beleive it's something they must endure or manufacture or beleive in to achieve this or that and worse of all "approval or favor" from Jesus himslef..

God has a way of humbling me that wears perfectly like a cheap suit at a Hollywood premiere party..even when I am not on board or striving for excellence...

there are times I had very very little faith to speak of or saw hope fold like a lawn chair in a hurricane..then He came..restored..and nudged a bit further..

anyone can shoot down an experience like that to make it seem as if we MUST be obedient in order to bring forth the very aspects of the spirit...

But are we being obedient becasue we are trying to or becasue He's in us?..there has to be a grace that can cover the deepest end of our doubt ...otherwise it's useless..and that would be blasphemy..

He loves it when I speak of His nature like this...it's what he desired most of all to communicate..unconditional love...

the software was already there..downloaded a while ago..why didn't someone tell me??

peace Jeff

The real comfort food is not something that we eat,
it's the give-and-take acceptance from heart-to-heart
that fills us, yet, there is always room for more.

(always more than enough in us to give ' that more ' )

Dear Pete,
Ohmygoodness!  Thank You for your kind words.
You have been My Ace of Inspiration, of God's
Stick-to-It--ness and So much more, in both the Godly
and in human-ness as You allow and accept
God to be God, just as HE IS.. and Your thankfulness
because of it..
.. .  and as you allow Yourself to be human, just as You
are, "just" as God has made You to be So Much More,
You Are.

We are here to learn from one another, as God gives
us all each A Something very special to Not hoard ..  but to
extend to each other ..

..  You have done that for me, Pete.  You are Yourself,
and it's so wonderful to be a friend of someone who Is
one's own self, and not trying to be something or someone
else.  Thank You for being what God made You to Be ..
..   You.

Know that You are loved!

And, so many others here in this place .. and through
Steve Brown's love for all kinds of us peoples, I have
truly been blessed.    I thank God.
