I have come and visited and then gone away in tears with the intent to return again with a comment. I have repeated this many times. In between my visits I pray for you . . .
Your words of great beauty and joy despite your  loss leave me speechless. I have found your joy and sorrow has overwhelmed me . . . and  I thank you so for sharing your thoughts and the wisdom of insight gained on this journey.
Knowing Jesus means knowing peace that surpasses all understanding. I know of what you speak and I thank you for sharing.

What beautiful, beautiful tributes and loving memories of Savanna. May God continue to fill your heart and the hearts of all your family members with joy, peace, comfort, grace and so much more at this time and in the days ahead. You have such a warm and endearing heart and have touched me deeply.

We are blessed to know that Savanna’s life and death have touched hundreds and thousands of people all over the world and drawn precious hearts to the Lord. We live in the hope that we will meet again one day at Jesus feet. Psalm 22:10 “From my mother’s womb, You have been my God.”

I’ve always believed that the best way to evangelize is to simply live our faith out loud in front of the people around us, until one day, they come to a point where they say, “I want what you have” and then we are ready with an answer for the hope that we have. I think maybe that’s why God brings times of deepest darkness into our lives - so that the Light that is in us will shine all the more brightly. No one is quick to notice when a candle is lit in the daytime, but when it shines out in the night, they can’t help but notice.
You have shown this kind of Light.

Peace be with you, my friends. My prayers continue.

~ With Hope ~
by Steven Curtis Chapman
This is not at all how
We thought it was supposed to be
We had so many plans for you
We had so many dreams
And now you’ve gone away
And left us with the memories of your smile
And nothing we can say
And nothing we can do
Can take away the pain
The pain of losing you, but …
We can cry with hope
We can say goodbye with hope
‘Cause we know our goodbye is not the end, oh no
And we can grieve with hope
‘Cause we believe with hope
(There’s a place by God’s grace)
There’s a place where we’ll see your face again
We’ll see your face again
And never have I known
Anything so hard to understand
And never have I questioned more
The wisdom of God’s plan
But through the cloud of tears
I see the Father’s smile and say well done
And I imagine you
Where you wanted most to be
Seeing all your dreams come true
‘Cause now you’re home
And now you’re free, and …
We have this hope as an anchor
‘Cause we believe that everything
God promised us is true, so …
We wait with hope
And we ache with hope
We hold on with hope
We let go with hope

Since this debate is raging on the forums, I want to ask Steve and Pete this:

If you were invited to a gay wedding, would you go?

KK, I hear you, really I do, but you often seem to point to using every opportunity to straighten someone out, clarify things to them, convict them, etc.

If that's your calling, fine.  It's not mine usually.

In fact, many times in my life when I declare what I will do, God laughs, and leads me to do something else.  And, often, when I've said, "I never will do so-and-so" or "go to such a place", God laughs, and leads me to go there anyway and trust Him.  It turns out okay if you follow His lead instead of your own way and your own firm convictions.  That's been my experience, anyway.

We're closer in belief than you think.  I shared on Lisa's thread about when my gay friend asked me to go somewhere I knew I could not, and I didn't.  I've had instances where I had to say no.  Jesus didn't avoid a dinner party with some well-known sinners, so I don't have to be afraid of my reputation (or God's) to be in their company either, but I can listen for when to know the party's over and I must go.

Plus, there's no record that He spent the whole party straightening them out, so I'm not going to prepare any speeches or scriptures to beat them down with.  "The Holy Spirit will teach you what to say" means we trust for the right words at the right moment--no prepared speeches, pitches, or tract dialogues.

Being God's ambassador is not the same as being God's pitch-man or His defender.  None of us are qualified for those.  An ambassador makes an appeal through relationship-building, understanding, and a great deal of diplomacy.

You can't do those things if you're a world away from them.  You have to meet them where they are.

I think those drugs have done more than you realize to warp your sense of reality KK.  :  ))

All people are commanded to follow the laws of God.....aren't they KK??  But "nobody" can.  Unless you want to debate that as well??  Everyone is responsible for that KK....this is why we are all under judgement in the first place.  No suprise at all that we are "all" responsible to "obey" but "nobody can, b/c of sin.  :  ))

Calvinism never doubts God' s command for "perfection".  This is the whole basis of the Law.  Just b/c God expects us to "obey" doesn't mean we can though does it.   KK....do you love God perfectly even as a believer??  Far from it.  So, all stand in judgement....but only those with God's Spirit in them can ever repent.  THose without Him, are "on their own"....Unless God chooses to be merciful.

God "choosing those who can become willing" isn't choosing at all.  It's Man choosing to be willing to which God just sit's back and notices....ahhhhh so you do want me afterall.....when it's you KK who denies the very Scripture you say is true.....That man cannot understand the things of the spirit for they are foolishness to him.  So far, you've made salvation the equivelent of a person being less of a resistor than somebody else....this is "NEVER" addressed in Scripture as the reason a person is saved.. Only in the Gospel of KK : ))

God can use any means necessary and He does to save a person.  You apparenty havent' noticed the Apostle Paul and how he doesn't fit your little KK Gospel of Not resisting....on HIS WAY TO KILL CHRISTIANS...was changed ...wooomp there it is!!  :  ))

They must be brought to a state of "willingness" says KK....but the bible says those apart from Christ  "aren't willing.  Who is right...KK or The bible??

K_k says:   " A person can believe and trust in Christ before asking Him to enter their heart/lives to save them.  In fact they must be brought to a state of willingness to ask Him before He will come in as Savior.  He stands at the door and knocks, He doesn't break it down.  Seems like we may have discussed this before. "

So now KK....your down to some magic words of "asking" Him into your life....but if you cannot understand the things of God and cannot seek God as in Romans 3....how do you get belief and trust without being able to seek  nor understand?? Your Palagian heretics prevent you from believing in Scripture to maintain the lie of your man originated human based (not God based) Doctrine.  Show us "any verse" which says man must be brought into a state  of willingness in order to accept the Gospel.  What?? cant find any?? Cat got your tongue?? You make the whole tjhings an ordeal of the "mind" to simply convince someone.....which isn't enough to be saved....sorry KK....you don't believe in a Biblical Gospel at all. Satan also "believes" but he's not saved!!  :  )) It's B/c Satan isn't "called"....and never will be...But God could have chosen too...but chose "not" to let Satan have any grace.  God's perogative....do you think Satan could change his mind?? In your theology....Satan could "repent"....but in the Bible....We see that there is never any hope for Satan.  Do you think He could repent KK??? It fits your theology...not mine.

There again...on a scale of 0 to 100%....tell us oh please do tell how much of salvation is a primary cause of God vs. man's ability to reject.  Is it 100% God?  Or a combination of God and man??  If a combination....that what is your formula based on percentage to either "cause"?? You will see as you struggle to get around this....that man is the responder to God's 100% initiative.  Gotcha KK.  Gettcho back up off the wall!! Cmon'.  Your logic is falling to pieces.  To the degree that you are trusting in your own credit of "lacking" rebeliousness as the reason for your salvation......you are not fully trusting in the Biblical Jesus to save your soul.  Pure and simple.  B/c "you" helped "your (lil) god"  achieve  the work in you!!  This makes you a heretic KK.  A proud, self righteous Scripture denying heritic.  Just b/c you asked Christ into your life....doesn't mean you are saved.....Maybe you are one who will say...Lord Lord...but I did this and I did that...and I willed you into my life and it 's alllllll about meeeeeeee.....and Jesus might say....I never knew you....and btw...He'll also say it wasn't all about you.."how selfish of you to even think that"..it's all about My Fathers" will, and His plan for a covenant of His choosing...which didn't include you.  What are you trusting in, in your  man made faith??   Your efforts to cooperate with God?? B/c if so, I question whether you're really saved  KK.....either you did it...or God did it.  With you....nobody can really tell.

Anybody can be brought to a state of "willingness' in God's Economy.  There is no such verse which says God knocks on the unbelievers heart hoping they will take Him in.  The verse you love to quote was written to a Church....body of believers....and is not an appeal to the world.  Even some Armininian's at least get that right.  cool

Bruce, although I do not have a family, I have been in the position of wondering where next month's rent is coming from more times than I care to remember. God has always been faithful in supplying me with abundance at just the right time. Lifting you and your family up in prayer, brother!
